The Mindanao Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc., MIHP, is established to produce qualified and competent nursing graduates who will uphold the quality and excellence in the delivery of healthcare services. This will answer partly  the shortage of nurses and other healthcare professionals in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,  the country in general as well as the increasing demands for nurses worldwide. It is committed to improve the health status of the region and the whole country which has worsened due to brain drain problem.  The lack of health workers available has negatively impacted the delivery of healthcare services to the Filipinos.

In addition, the geographic location of the various municipalities  in ARMM, which is quite scattered in mainland and island provinces, has made it difficult for nursing schools to hire qualified and competent faculty to teach in such areas. This contributes further  to deteriorating quality of nursing graduates produced. The MIHP aims to  help address this perennial problem also  through its online nursing programs.
