Who We Are
The Mindanao Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (MIHP) is more than just a school — it is a nurturing ground for future healthcare professionals shaped by the values, aspirations, and resilience of the Bangsamoro people. Born out of a vision to respond to the critical shortage of healthcare workers, especially in underserved communities across the region, MIHP grew during a time of regional transformation and continues to evolve alongside it.
MIHP carries a unique identity — one that fuses academic excellence with a deep moral responsibility. It exists not only to train competent nurses and healthcare providers but also to shape individuals who serve with empathy, integrity, and a community-first mindset. In everything we do, from course design to faculty development, we hold fast to the principles of inclusivity, peace-building, and moral governance — values deeply embedded in the broader vision for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Our campus culture thrives on a sense of mission. Whether through face-to-face classes or online platforms that reach students in remote areas, MIHP is committed to access and equity. The institution constantly explores ways to make its programs more responsive to the changing healthcare landscape while remaining grounded in its founding ethos. This ethos, which emphasizes compassionate care, health promotion, social responsibility, and academic rigor, permeates our curriculum and community initiatives alike.
Over the years, MIHP has developed a reputation not only for academic quality but for its holistic approach to education. Our goals are woven into the daily rhythm of school life — advancing health research, forging international and local partnerships, addressing workforce gaps, and engaging in community outreach. We see our students not as mere recipients of knowledge, but as future changemakers who carry the potential to transform healthcare delivery in the Philippines and beyond.
Governance & Accreditation
MIHP operates under the governance of the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). This integration aligns MIHP’s academic and institutional policies with regional standards for quality education and ethical leadership.
The institute is fully accredited as a higher education institution by MBHTE–BARMM, meeting stringent criteria in faculty qualifications, curriculum rigor, facility sufficiency, and student services. Accreditation is periodically reviewed to ensure ongoing compliance with educational and professional benchmarks.
In addition to MBHTE governance, MIHP maintains full compliance with the national Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and adheres to its regulations. This dual accreditation ensures that all MIHP programs are recognized regionally and nationally, and that graduates are eligible for licensure and practice throughout the Philippines.
MIHP actively engages in partnerships and collaborative monitoring with BARMM’s Ministry of Health, the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education, and national quality-assurance bodies such as CHED–Region XII. These inter-agency linkages foster continuous improvement in teaching, clinical training, and student assessment, and ensure the institution remains at the forefront of healthcare education in Mindanao.
